Good Morning on this beautiful Saturday morning! Yesterday flew by and before I knew it my head was on the pillow out like a light… Our morning hike up Cowles Mountain took about an hour. Cowles Mountain is a really popular hiking spot that is 1.5 miles each way. When you get to the top there is an amazing 360-degree panoramic view of San Diego County. It is a fun a different way to get in some outdoor cardio! There are people that use that mountain as their daily cardio! I love hiking it here and there but couldn’t use it as my daily cardio… too many people and also the cardio expenditure is just different than a track, treadmill, or running outdoors without the rock climbing. We have talked about different types of cardio and this is a perfect example of a cardio expenditure I consider luxury and bonus cardio. The hike is definitely fun and breath taking at the top, but cardiovascular wise, it is more of bonus cardio. You burn calories but not the same as a typical cardio workout. When you are dodging people, climbing over rocks, watching your steps, etc. it is hard to push it like you would on a rock less terrain…. 😉 So awesome to see all walks of life climbing the mountain, enjoying outdoors and being active!!
Other than the climb and a nightly walk, yesterday was off from the weights. We had our meeting with my webmaster. Meeting lasted 3 hours… We are working to re-organize the members section to keep things easy to navigate through and allow you to take advantage of everything being offered! There will be a few new areas to the site including body part exercises along with a section for our PODCASTS. To listen to our posted PODCASTS, you can always search for Podcasts, until a section is created.
Today I am headed up North for Michael’s Jujitsu tournament. It is fun to switch roles and be there and supporting him while he competes!! Nice to be watching from the crowd and not the one being watched, for a change! With that being said, I will be away from the computer for most of the day and will post more on the event and our travels later.
Meal 1: oats and protein shake down… sipping on coffee and going to get things together to get in a workout before heading up to L.A.
Have to pack my meals for the road. Don’t have much so going to have to stick with bare minimum and go through what I do have.
Food packing list:
sliced cucumbers, radishes, rice cakes with my Natural Nut butter packs, tilapia quest bars and protein powder…
Running low on food and desperately need to make it to the grocery store but hey, I made it work. You can always make it work, just have to be creative. Have the essentials for the road and after the tournament will most likely eat something healthy out…
Hope everyone has an amazing weekend!
until Later…
hugs,
G
