Working in an office all day is no excuse not to be active and stay healthy! If you work in an office and a typical 8-5 job, I want to offer you some of my tips for still staying active!
Keep in mind, these suggestions are not what I would recommend to replace a gym workout but they are great to help keep you more active and not as tigh while you are sitting in a desk for hours on end.
They will also help you focus on your posture and core.
Some suggestions are to:
Bring athletic shoes to walk in during lunch, or before/after work -take the stairs instead of the elevator
-Use a restroom on another floor and take the stairs to/from it.
-while walking up stairs, skip every other, here and there. Be careful if you are wearing heels.
-Every hour or so, get up and walk around to prevent your muscles from getting stiff.
-Swap out your office chair for a balance ball chair. It will help you sit with proper posture and strengthen your core.
– During a break or at lunch, perform some simple stretches and/or exercises.
-Squeeze your glutes as you walk around the office .
FEW OTHER TIPS:
-DRINK PLENTY OF WATER
-AVOID THE COFFE/BREAK ROOM THAT IS USUALLY FILLED WITH SWEETS
-BRING YOUR OWN LUNCH AND SNACKS!
just a few tips and reminders that there are some tools you can use to be more active than less active while sitting at a desk.
Not like running on a treadmill but better than nothing!
