Hope everyone had a great day! I am just finishing up my evening and going to head to bed, immediately after this post. Can I just tell you how sore I am from our Easter workout. Be sure to check out my workout from Yesterday and try it out, it is a killer and I am so sore!! Right where i want it, upper hamstrings and glutes, hurts so good! 😉 Okay so I am sure you all head about the 7.2 earthquake we had in Baja, weird… as i am tying this, guess what, just felt another quake! Geez… we have had about 6 earth quakes since yesterday. the 7.2 being the biggest and boy did I feel it. I was upstairs and had just got our of the shower. The whole house started shaking and Bruno went crazy.. It lasted, what felt like a minute or two. I called for Michael to see if everything was okay! It was just a good shake from the quake but had me a little scared. I haven’t felt anything even close to that since a big one we had in ’89, yes I was only 5 and I remember it! The one we just had a minute ago was tiny but I felt it. We were all safe and nothing damaged in the house so that was good, just a little scare.
We had a great Easter yesterday. We had Meriza and her fiance Pete over for a BBQ. We BBQ’d Chicken and Flank Steak (I opted for the fish). I made a huge salad and grilled asparagus along with made rice pilaf with Vegetable broth. It was delicious. Not to mention the cauliflower devil’d eggs I made as an appetizer. Check out the recipe under the recipe section. They turned out awesome and were a hit! For desert, I busted out some sugar free jello and had Meriza bring non fat cool whip to top it off. It was a great post dinner treat. I have sugar free jello, always sitting in my cupboards for those moments you just want something a little sweet. I haven’t had it in forever and it reminded me of what a great little treat it is, diet friendly too! We enjoyed the company and great conversation out by our fire pit. They left around 9 ish and we headed to bed shortly after. Easter has come and gone and until next year… Hope everyone had a wonderful time with friends and family! Any stories to share or photos to post?
Today I woke up around 4ish to yes another quake. It woke me up from my sleep, which is pretty good because I am a heavy sleeper! I woke up so sore that I knew my training was going to have to be catered to my sore body!! I ended up staying home and working on some things before heading to the gym to train my client and then followed our session with an upper body workout, not doing anything what so ever for my legs! I haven’t been sore like this in a while! I did a shoulder workout
-dumbbell press
-side laterals–single, leaning off a pole
-Arnold raises
-front raises
-seated side laterals, standing side laterals –double
-machine press with slow downward movement.
Jessica came by and we recorded our circuit workout of the week, which will be posted shortly… From there it was back to work online before heading to the gym to train another client and finally headed home and went for a walk with Bruno. We did about a 3 mile walk. This morning it was raining, can you believe that, what is up with this weather! Rain again in SD in April!! but by the late a.m. the rain was gone and sun was out. Just about the craziest year we have had with the rain fall, that is for sure!
I am calling it a day now and headed to make my shake before bed.
Today’s meals were as follows:
-shake, 1/2 c. oats
-1/2 c. crock pot oats with apple slices 🙂
-5 oz chicken, 3/4 c. rice pilaf and cauliflower (left overs 😉
-big salad with 4 oz chicken and 15 almonds
-7 egg white veggie omelet
-same as meal 4 but with 1 tbsp olive oil instead of the almonds
-protein shake with 1 tbsp flax seed
Hope everyone had an awesome day and until tomorrow.
Good night and sweet dreams!
🙂 ~G
