Hope everyone is having an amazing rest of your holiday weekend! Finishing up my holiday weekend or “end of summer” with a bang! Finished up an awesome workout, saw a few clients, went to the grocery store and now finishing up work at home. Doesn’t look like the best BBQ weather, unfortunately, but nothing is stopping me from grilling up some turkey burgers this evening!! 🙂
Here is my WOD
WORKOUT OF THE DAY:
STRETCH
RUN 1/4 MILE, 100 ASSISTED PULL-UPS
RUN 1/2 MILE, 100 PUSH UPS AND 100 BODY WEIGHT SQUATS
RUN 1 MILE, 100 THRUSTERS WITH 35# EZ BAR
COOL DOWN/STRETCH
Great workout and may seem like not too much but boy was my heart rate up and beating out of my heart!!
Had to run by the grocery store for a few things. Wasn’t feeling like going to Costco on this crazy holiday so went for Trader Joes. You saw some items I grabbed at Henry’s, you saw my shopping spree at Costco, now here is a day in the life of Gina Shopping at Trader Joes…
You can see, got my fair share of frozen green beans and asparagus but you will see some other finds such as
-stir fry veggies
-broccoli slaw
(love the bags of stir-fry and broccoli slaw) The stir fry has a mix of sugar snap peas, broccoli, cabbage, and other greens 🙂 So great for those in a hurry, don’t have time to chop meals!
-love the chia seed tortilla chips 🙂
-wild rice
-love love love shrimp (frozen and already cooked, so makes life easy)
-have to have chicken or veggie low sodium broth for soups and cooking rice!
-wild rice is a must have! comes already cooked so it is super easy and convenient!!
-love me some cayenne pepper!
-LOVE their Red Pepper and egg plant spread!!
-arugula is another one of my favorites to simply add to salads or in a saute!!
So tonight going to make some turkey burgers with the 99% lean ground turkey. Mixing in some Cayenne Pepper and onions and grilling those up with the red pepper egg plant spread over top and wrapping in the romaine lettuce leaves! Turkey burgers are on the menu tonight, sun or no sun, the grill is getting some use!!
Came home and simply sauteed up a bag of the broccoli slaw with 1/2 c. mushrooms, cayenne pepper and a left over chicken breast! Made for a perfect meal! 😉
Enjoy the rest of your Holiday!! xo
