Have you asked yourself the question why?
When we talk about motivation, it is important to ask yourself the question, “Why am I doing this?” So often people lose motivation and try to understand how to regain that inner fire. The question becomes WHY? When you ask yourself Why, you can root yourself in the reason why you are doing what you are doing. Most people know what they’re doing but very few know why. What is the deep rooted reason why you are doing something? The problem is that the Why is the only part that inspires people. It’s your purpose, your belief, your reason for being. Whether you want to inspire and teach your children or just take off a few inches of your waistline by getting yourself to stick to one serving of nut butter instead of five, without a why you are nowhere. Without a reason and knowing “why”, you can easily lose your inner motivation to keep going after something.
If you don’t have a why for what you’re doing, then sit down and find one. Without a why, you can easily lose motivation. Nothing important ever gets done and you can easily lose focus without a powerful enough reason. Running a marathon or losing those extra baby weight pounds, it all starts with why.
Today, as you go on with your day, start to ask yourself, “why”? If you can come up with an answer, you are doing great! If you cannot come up with an answer to why you are doing what you are doing, research the roots of Why and find your inner motivation!
