Good evening everyone! Hope everyone had a great day and is looking forward to the weekend. I had a busy day. Started off a bit later than usual, being that I had a cancellation this morning and didn’t want to start my workout too early and wait around. Usually I am in the gym by 7:30-7:45 and start with clients around 9 but this a.m. didn’t start until 10:15 so I had some extra time to get things done around the house before heading to the gym. I had a quick full body circuit today and believe it or not laid off the cardio because my knees have been starting to bother me. I genetically have bad knees that run on my mom’ side so I have to be really careful. I tend to start to feel them when I do a lot of running. I have been running several times a week and often part of my runs are down hill. When I go for run/walks around our house, there is a big hill that I go down and it is often too hard to walk fast down it. I would rather run down the hill but that is just not good on your joints! Running down hill on cement and with bad knees just don’t mix. My knees are not a big concern but have to watch them closely so they don’t become a chronic issue! Back to that, what would we do without our limbs topic!! omg, I don’t know what I would do, seriously! I did a quick 20 minute circuit of the following exercises: (15 reps 1 set)
-stationary lunges with 15# dumbbells, straight leg dead lifts, shoulder press, side laterals, bent over rows, push ups, jump squats– repeat 2x
So I tried the kelp noodles, as I posted my lunch recipe on the site earlier today. I had an awesome kelp noodle chicken salad. Those noodles are super versatile because you can really do whatever you want with them. They have a very neutral taste to them (almost tasteless) so they add a great texture and a little bit of crunch to a salad. I have tons more left, as you saw the several package I bought, so I will be able to try them different ways. I want to try the Stir-fry next and also add them to soup! For so many of us who just don’t have pasta all that often, these different low carb “pasta” alternatives are great! I had left over salmon for dinner tonight and it is amazing how sometimes the left overs are better than the just prepared meal! The salmon was delicious!! My skin has been super dry lately and my lips have never been so chapped. I think my body is craving and in dire need of fats so I had a higher fat day today and am going to increase my fats over the next few days to see if that helps the situation.
I am off to bed now. Going to make a shake and have a single serving of almond butter and get a good nights sleep! Until tomorrow… night night
