In a Medical situation, “flatlinning” leads to a series of procedures but what about flatlinning in another area of your life. Ffatlinning doesn’t just have to refer to your heart, it can refer to any and all areas of your life where you just feel a lul…
There is not one thing that works for everyone, as far as how to jump start that line and get your mind back in the game. Medically, there is a typically procedure that is played out but when it comes to other areas of our lives, what gets our energy and line back in action varies from individual to individual! We all have different means of motivation and what works to kick that line back into gear and keep the beat going! What if we had heart rate monitors that could monitor our lives and tell us where we may be flatlinning or about to flatline? We may be able to see what parts of our lives are in danger and in need of some serious rehabilitation but we don’t so we need to monitor our own selves! If we did have monitors we could physically see what was going on in our lives but the truth is we do have monitors but they are mental monitors! We are the ones who can constantly refer to our mental monitor and see what areas of our lives need that defibrillator to jump start or re-energize ourselves.
In order to prevent going into a “code blue” or flatline emergency state in our lives we have to become conscious and dig deep into our minds, asking ourselves two questions, “What is going on and then what action should we take?” Right now if you were to turn on your monitor/consciousness and examine your life, what are the gauges saying? Are you seeing regular beats or are you flatlinning or getting pretty close to it…??
We complain about things in our lives and this is the true indication that where those complaints lie is exactly where we need to take action and could use a little shock to get us back on track! So often we see where flatlinning is a potential, know how to fix it and yet we do nothing. Complaints are telling us that there is an area of our life not going well and the truth is you know what needs to be done but it is a matter of putting tools to action!
If you complain about your weight, are you exercising more or trying to develop a healthy eating style? Complain about your job, are you putting a resume together and looking for a new job, or getting more education or training? Finances, are you revisiting your spending habits or putting efforts into how you can make more money. What about relationships, see where work is needed yet you are sitting in front of a TV and not spend more time communicating and doing things to promote a better relationship?
You can see how there are several areas of our lives that can be monitored and looked at to see if they are beating or flatlinning or on the verge of… If we turn on the mental monitors of our life, our consciousness, we can see what the gauges are saying and we can take action and prevent an area of our life going idle. Unlike using a medical device such as a defibrillator, when an area of our life flat lines, it is not that easy to restart. A relationship and other areas of life, if not monitored, can go beyond restarting. Let’s avoid this potential flatline and remember to continually mentally monitor your life and take action where action is needed!
