Post Workout Meal, better than your usual Protein and oats…
A bowl of whole grain cereal is as good, and in some cases better for for recovery after exercise than some of the typical post workout recovery drinks. Cereal is an awesome post workout meal that I utilize for myself and clients. Not only is it a healthy alternative but adds some variety to a potential monotonous routine. You can even get away with a higher glycemic index cereal if it is post workout and your metabolism is roaring from your training and or cardio. I am not talking about Lucky Charms but possibly Cherrios or Grapebuts. Those are most likely going to be slightly higher than old fashion oatmeal but great to utilize post workout. You can even get away with the honey nut oats or a Go Lean, with a little more natural sugars, if it is post workout. Instead of milk, use your protein shake … Post workout, why not add a banana. Now that is an awesome meal!
