Almost the new year… Exciting and time is ticking.  Last night we went out to dinner at a very well known and nice Steak House, Donovans of La Jolla.  It was a friends birthday so we were invited to celebrate.  Yes, fun celebration and super fine dining.  It was a great time and delicious food. I had crusted ahi with veggies and an asparagus salad to start!  It was a great time and good to get out of our typical comfort of Cheesecake Factory and PF Changs!  As I mentioned in the forum, this is one of the areas I want to work on in the new year, trying new places and branching out.  We tend to get in the rut of the same places because you know what you want, love what you want and don’t want to be disappointed.  Definitely something I want to work on for the New Year, branching out and trying new places!
Today was a great day, other than the weather being not so great… I woke up and went for a 4 mile walk with Bruno.  I took the day off from weight training but had an awesome HIT 20 minute cardio session.
3 minute fast walk on 4% incline (5.0 mph)
3 minute job on 4% incline (7.0mph)
2 minute sprint at 4% incline (9.0 mph)
2 minute jog
repeat…
After getting things done at home, I was able to grab lunch with a girl friend.  We went to a local hot spot “blue waters” which serves the freshest seafood around.  They were actually featured on the Food Network, so you may recall the name.
my menu today was as follows:
protein shake and 1/2 c. oats
my protein berry muffins
1/4 c. almonds
Swordfish salad at Blue Waters with avocado
7 egg whites with green beans with sliced almonds
7 egg white veggie omelet
protein shake before bed….
Off to call it a night and get some rest before tomorrow.  Tomorrow is the last day of the year.  Gonna end it on a good, refreshed note!  No big plans for the new year just a delicious dinner in!! Maybe stay up late enough to watch the ball drop! 🙂
Have a great night~!!
