Just keep walking….

Feb 24 2011

If you have the desire to do something of be somebody, trust in yourself. The first step to achieving your goals is to look within. This is often the hardest step but the most important! You have to take this step in order to reach your desired destination. A goal, internal or external, starts from within. A goal gets you to your destination but there are milestones along the way. The first one is the conquering the milestone of digging within yourself to discover your inner fire. Start by conquering your inner strength and then use that strength to fuel you towards other milestones you reach along your journey. Stay clear on your path and your direction and just keep moving. Never stop… always keep going, keep moving and keep walking. You WILL get lost, at times, maybe make a wrong turn but you just trust in yourself and you will continue on, just never stop!! Start by turning inward, trusting yourself and from there 1/2 the battle is over, the rest is one foot in front of another!!

Keep the Momentum going…

Nov 10 2010

Momentum is that invisible force that has direction and can carry us through life. It has the power that can carry us through life, if you let it. When momentum takes over, it can make you feel accomplished and on such a roll! Often, as you are seeking that “perfect plan” or motivation to help you reach your goals but something is lacking. What may be lacking is the momentum, that force to help you implement your plan and keep you moving forward. It takes time to get momentum going but once there is a mental and physical shift, momentum takes over and without you even knowing it, you are on a roll!

It takes weeks to create habits and once those habits are formed, you spark that crazy universal force, momentum, and it can and will keep you moving in the right direction, if you let it. Once that momentum is triggered, you suddenly feel motivated, optimistic, and see the possibilities in your path. Momentum is one of those forces that can literally take over. Have you noticed that when things are going well for you, it seems like everything starts going well and moving in that same direction?! Yes, that is the power of momentum! You wake up early, start your morning out with activity and a healthy breakfast, from there you ensure your meals are packed and you are ready to start your day, you are on it with your meals, (you feel like a million bucks), you go to the gym after work and then looking forward to your healthy crock pot chicken and time with the family. You see how momentum just takes over. It is like once it starts, you can’t stop it. When you are on a roll, you are on a roll and nothing can stop you! You start to experience the feeling of how you are in control of your choices and how those choices become habits and a reality.

Momentum is there to help you and support you. It is there to keep you motivated and moving in the right direction. It is something that you can sustain and embrace but you have to recognize it and keep it going. Once momentum takes over, which it will, you have to cherish it and let it carry you towards your goals.

Here are a few goals to help you capture that momentum:

-TAKE ONE STEP AT A TIME, FORGIVING YOURSELF FOR PAST SLIP-UPS AND GO AFTER IT AGAIN! ONE STEP AT A TIME UNTIL MOMENTUM TAKES OVER AND GUIDES YOU FURTHER…

-ACT IN WAYS THAT CORRELATE WITH YOUR BELIEF SYSTEM. DO WHAT YOU BELIEVE AND MAKE CHOICES BASED ON WHO YOU ARE AND WHAT FEELS RIGHT.

-TAKE THE LEAP OF FAITH AND EXCEED YOUR OWN EXPECTATIONS BY STEPPING OUTSIDE OF YOUR COMFORT ZONE

-TO DISCOVER YOUR TRUE POTENTIAL AND ALLOW MOMENTUM TO TAKE OVER, YOU MUST LOVE YOURSELF!

-HAVE FAITH AND BELIEVE IN YOURSELF.

-PERSISTENCE AND PATIENCE…

-NEVER GIVE UP…

We started this week with a Fresh start and by now you have to let momentum carry you through the rest of the week. Momentum will continue to propel you forward, if you let it! Once you have that fire in you, you must capture it and never let it go! Momentum has the ability to make you feel like you can do anything and with that, YOU CAN! If your momentum has sparked, capture it and run with it. If you have yet to feel that momentum beneath you, stick with it and you will soon experience it! I promise you!!!

“The most important thing you can do to achieve your goals is to make sure that as soon as you set them, you immediately begin to create momentum.” ~Tony Robbins

Rain or shine, let’s pick things up and round out October with a bang. Can you believe October is almost over. Okay this time flies concept is really getting scary!! Today, commit yourself. Your first step on your journey to your best you is to commit yourself! It doesn’t matter where you are in your fitness journey, everyone cannot achieve success if you are not moving toward something, so before you move any farther, you have to establish or Re establish those goals so you know where you are going! You may be moving along not really knowing where you are going or where the road will take you, almost just out of habit… going with the flow and doing things because they are routine. You need to stop in your steps and take a moment to figure out where you are headed and as yourself why??! Before you start your day, ask yourself those questions and start Fresh with the motivation and fire to go after those goals! Suddenly when you have a set plan and know where you are headed and why, things become alive again!

A few Monday Pointers:
1. Start now, do not think that you are doomed if you fell off the wagon for a day or two
2. Consistency is key, get back into your regular regime, stay the course!
3. If you haven’t already, start to pre make your meals so they are ready to eat and meals are not a hassle.
4. Ask for help if you need it, that is what we are all here for!
5. EAT a balanced program, another words…just eat clean and be aware of your choices!!!

Have an amazing Monday and updates to come later…

Commit Yourself today for tomorrow…

Oct 24 2010

It all begins with a commitment! Take the time to evaluate your goals, tomorrow is a new day and a perfect time to print out this commitment and jot down your goals. Every 4 weeks, re-evaluate your goals and see how well you progressed. Reprint out the commitment form and re commit yourself for your next series of mini goals. 4 weeks is a good marker because it is enough time to see results and not too much time where it seems overwhelming to reach your goals! 2010 is coming to an end and why not start tomorrow with setting up your mini goals and holding yourself accountable! Let’s round out the year with a bang and conger those goals, one mini goal at a time! Remember you need to KNOW what you want and have a game plan on how you are going to get there!

Good Morning

Oct 10 2010

Good Morning!

Starting my morning off fabulous! Positive intentions and a great outlook on how the day will unfold! Setting the tone for the day with great intentions and ready to go. Sipping on my Caffe Latte (aka coffee topped of with a delicious creamy vanilla protein shake) Yumm! and a bowl of oats, doesn’t get much better than that!

Hope everyone is enjoying their weekend!

Thought for the day:

We are all chasing after personal goals! Whatever your goal may be… educational, physical, social, emotional, etc. there may be a time when you sit there and think how am I doing this and there is no way I can continue to do this!? This is a common and normal reaction when things get tough and more challenging. It is so easy to give up and find excuses to quit rather than picking up that extra bit of mojo and doing whatever it takes to get over the hump and get going. It is so much easier to give up rather than keep going. Do you want to take the easy way out? Of course not, you are not that person! You want to push yourself beyond mental and physical limits and prove to yourself that you CAN and WILL do it, no matter what, why…??? because you have it in you and you are in control of your decision! The questionable feeling you may have right now about your summit to the top, may seem overwhelming. I want you to remember that this feeling you have right now will blossom and transform into the most overwhelming feeling of accomplishment when you reach that final destination! If you find the thoughts of questioning entering your head, let’s turn those thoughts around and only think about where we are going and how good it is going to feel! Nothing feels as good as that final step is going to feel! If you wake up wanting to snooze the alarm, you are tired, you feel like you just can’t keep going, you need the rest, remember your mind is getting the best of you! That alarm should be the sound of success! Waking up ready to go because you know that your early rising is taking you to the top of that mountain quicker than the snooze. That early rising is making you feel so good, so rejuvenated and so accomplished. You may be lost in your mind, at this current moment, but trust in yourself and these principles and you will embrace the benefits before you know it!

No matter where you are in your goals, You can do it!! It may currently seem like you can’t but you CAN!!

Happy Sunday

Good morning team!!

Oct 3 2010

Good morning and hope everyone’s having a wonderful weekend! Sunday is here and yet again the day to regroup, refresh, prepare for the week ahead. Been back for a week exactly and back in the full swing of things… Today, heading back to Costco for my weekly shopping trip. It takes a week and our refrigerator looks like we are headed out of town and depleted our food for our travels. With only a flat of eggs and 2, bell peppers and a stock of celery, better stock back up today! Sunday has been a day I consider my “go with it day” woke up really feeling a big bowl of Kashi so kashi Go Lean Cereal it was with a vanilla protein shake, used for my milk. With the cereal already being so high in protein, this meal was a little high in protein but I was out of Almond milk so went for it…I love love love my crunchy cereal and often need a break from the warm oats. With only 140 calories, 1 g of fat, 30 grams of carbs and 10 grams of fiber and 13 grams of protein per Cup, it is a great alternative to oatmeal~!

We get so use to oatmeal everyday we forget that there are healthy cereal options out there if you just know what you are looking for and how to read labels. The biggest thing is to look at the SUGAR content, ingredients straying away from White flour and go for the whole grains and finally the serving size! Cereal can really get you on the serving size. It is easy to have a 1/2 cup of oatmeal but when it comes to cereal, a 1/2 cup looks like a tablespoon and it is easy to have 2-3 serving sizes in one sitting, if you are not measuring. Change is good, hot cereal to cold crunch is a big treat for me! Needless today, I am powered for the day, thanks to Kashi!

Thought of the day:
As you prepare for your week, prepare your mind. It is so easy to talk about goals and set goals but the harder part is sticking to them and putting the energy in to accomplish those goals! Remember that the energy you put into reaching your dreams equals the chance and outcome of achieving those goals/dreams! It is important to focus and send ALL of our positive energy in the right direction, in order to optimize our ability to reach our goals quicker! It is SO easy to put energy into the frustrations of progress or obstacles we see as barriers but you have to redirect that energy into accomplishing your goals and dreams! Don’t strip yourself of the potential you have to reach your goals by focusing on the obstacles or barriers! Don’t be blinded by any disappointments, frustrations, and failures rather put your blinders on to anything but the positive direction you are moving!! Today is a great day to think about your weekly goals and any obstacles that you can see as potential barriers you might face. Today is a good day to make the necessary plans to ensure nothing strips your energy towards your goals! If we take the time to overcome those roadblocks or potential set backs, before they occur, our energy never has to shift from the direction of our goals! Most big dreams involve big effort but those dreams that require the most effort have the most sustaining results! To overcome obstacles before they occur, reflect on your week and see what situations you may be able to avoid before they occur! For example, do you for see a day that is jam packed with things to do, you may see that day as a challenging day to get to the gym to get your workout in, no problem… arrange your week so that that specific day is used as your OFF day, to avoid A) missing a workout that you had planned for and B) avoiding any frustration or regret for missing that workout. Do you see a day where you may be getting home super late and are going to have to cram for dinner. You know based on past experiences, when you get home late, you are starving it is so much easier to go for the quick and easy snacky foods or frozen pizza you have for emergencies, right? Before you allow this situation to occur, be sure you have plans in your week to ensure you have a healthy meal waiting for you when you get home! Maybe that is a day that you pull out your crock pot and make one of our delicious crock pot meals! Rather reaching that obstacle, if you plan today for the obstacle, you will overcome it before it even occurs! You have ensured that your energy has remained focused towards your goals but more than that you have avoided any added stress or frustration that isn’t necessary!

Today… Plan ahead and overcome any barriers before they occur and let’s keep our energy and focus on the direction of our goals and dreams!

Happy Sunday!

Happy Friday

Sep 10 2010

Good Morning and Happy Friday!!

Oats, Java and a shake and I am headed out the door to the gym for a circuit before seeing Mrs Superstar Traci for our 30 minute circuit workout and then packing my bags to head up to LA for the weekend. Traci has been digging deep and working to get back into the best shape of her life aiming for that “FABULOUSLY FIT AT 40“. With all the support and tools, we all know you can do it Traci, mind over matter! Excited to watch your journey unfold… one year baby, we’ve got this! That is the best way to strive for those long term results! I am so proud of Traci for accepting the journey of taking it one day at a time, building her dream home with a solid foundation!

So many people want results YESTERDAY, yet they start striving for them TOMORROW! How does that work? Well, it doesn’t and it only leads you towards short term possible weight loss success goals, if that. If losing weight is your goal and your only goal, you can go for a crash diet or hey, have you heard of the Cabbage Soup Diet, for strictly weight loss and to see those number drop, this may be fore you…

The Cabbage Soup Diet plan promises a 10-pound weight loss in one week! Check this out!!

The 7-day Cabbage Soup Diet plan promises all you can eat — as long as you stick to the small list of allowed foods on alternate days, along with two daily bowls of fat-free cabbage soup. Other specific foods that must be eaten including fruit, vegetables, skim milk, and meat. Dieters are also advised to drink plenty of water and avoid alcohol.

Here’s a sample Cabbage Soup Diet plan:

Day 1: Cabbage soup and all the fruit you want except bananas. Drink unsweetened tea, black coffee, cranberry juice, or water.

Day 2: Cabbage soup, all the low-calorie vegetables you want (except beans, peas, or corn), and a baked potato with butter.

Day 3: Cabbage soup and a mixture of the above fruit and vegetables.

Day 4: Cabbage soup, up to eight bananas, and two glasses of skim milk.

Day 5: Cabbage soup, up to 20 ounces of beef, chicken or fish, up to six fresh tomatoes, and at least 6-8 glasses of water.

Day 6: Cabbage soup, up to 3 beef steaks, and unlimited vegetables.

Day 7: Cabbage soup, up to 2 cups of brown rice, unsweetened fruit juices, and unlimited vegetables.

Okay, really…. ????!!!! I am not even going to comment on this program but the point is, there are so many ways you can go for that quick fix but they are not building LONG TERMS SUCCESS. Your goal is to build that foundation of lifelong habits, physically, mentally and emotionally! Having a realistic long term goal, allows you to make the necessary changes and take the necessary steps to build up your foundation and then anything laid upon that foundation is holding steady!
Imagine you build a house without a foundation. It may be the prettiest house in the world and you could have spent so much money on all the finest bells and whistles but guess what there is NO foundation and without that foundation, it could be a simple shake of the earth and that beautiful house is falling to the ground! Now, if you spend a little bit of extra time, building the foundation and slowly laying brick by brick, it may take a little bit longer to obtain the house of your dreams but guess what, once you get there and have the completed project, it is yours forever! From there, it is minor design tweaks and changes but your foundation is built and it was so worth the wait!!!

Imagine your success on this journey in a similar way, we are laying our bricks, each day and all these bricks we are creating our masterpiece that is going to hold

Think about it, do you want the breathtaking house without the foundation within the next few weeks or are you willing to invest into that house, even if it takes you a year to build it? The choice is yours!!!

Here we are building a foundation and offering the tools to allow you to lie one brick at a time and build upon your solid efforts towards lifelong goals! Living the lifestyle ladies, one day at a time…

Have an amazing Friday!

The week has begun and it is off to a great start! I cannot tell you how great it feels to be home! Nothing like home sweet home!

Thought for the evening:

You have your goals we speak about…Keep your eye on the Goal, but don’t go too long!

One key aspect of effective goal setting that will help you stay focused is to remember to begin with the end in mind!!!

Your goals must be tied to your “big picture vision.” As I mentioned this morning, it is important to “begin with the end in mind”. Imagine and visualize that the end goal is a powerful, emotionally and physically, and visualize yourself achieving it.

Until then, once you have the big picture in mind, just go for it and train hard!

Until tomorrow!! Sweet dreams!
