Good Morning everyone! Slept well?? I hope so! I woke up around 4 but then had no problem going back to bed for an hour. Can you imagine sleeping in again? I have to think hard at the last time I “slept in” and when I say “slept in” I am talking a maybe 6:30 or 7! It is just crazy how we get our bodies into a rhythm and it is hard to break, even if you try. Our bodies are smart animals, that is for sure! I still use an alarm, just to be safe, but in reality, I don’t think it is necessary!
So on with the day we go. Looks like the sun is peaking through… come on Sun, come on!!! šŸ˜‰
Okay so we have used a TON of canned pumpkin in several of our recipes and I have had several e-mails regarding where to find Canned Pumpkin? Is it seasonal? People want to try our delicious pumpkin muffin, pumpkin shakes or pumpkin oatmeal but cannot seam to find the canned pumpkin?? I haven’t been on my pumpkin kick lately but these questions had me wondering. Okay so first of all, NO canned pumpkin is NOT seasonal. Of course you will see more of it, come the holidays, and much cheaper, but you can or should be able to get it year round. So research reveals that there was s shortage of pumpkins last year and that is why stock has been limited!! I guess with last years bad weather, it destroyed most of the pumpkin crops. It is nearly impossible for people in certain parts of the country to find pumpkin puree in their local grocery store. So I started looking further into this and found some still available online! Yes, no fear, you can have your canned pumpkin and still eat it too!! šŸ˜‰ Go to the below links to check out how and where you can buy it online and you may want to stock up!!! Pumpkin is such a great source of Vitamin A and high in fiber with low calories! There are so many ways to prepare it from our famous muffins, pancakes, in our shakes, in our oatmeal, even in soup! Such a great canned good to have on stock at ALL times!!


FYI— BEWARE, Do NOT mistakenly purchase “pumpkin pie filling”. It’s totally different than “pure pumpkin”. Pumpkin Pie filling is much sweeter, much higher in calories and loaded with sugar. (meant for making pumpkin pie) Be sure to get PURE PUMPKIN! I have made the easy mistake before so just read carefully! šŸ™‚
