Cravings, they are part of life… Sorry no appetite suppressant or special pill is going to keep cravings away! The only thing that is going to help fight those cravings is A) mental strength & B) having the proper tools of what to do and what to turn to, when the cravings come on strong! So much of cravings are mental! Remember our good ‘ol word SOBER… This is to be put into action whenever one of these cravings occurs!

Control Cravings with these few tips:
-Drink more water when you feel a craving coming on. If you plain water is not enough, spice it up with fruit, a few favored Stevia drops or simply by adding lemon or lime.
-Chew sugar free gum. Not a favorite tip but during those extreme times, better to chew a stick of your favorite gum than to go for the unhealthy craving and unnecessary calories. When I am having one of those moments, my favorite are the line of Extra Dessert Delights.

-Get up and get out. Get your mind off the craving and go for a nice walk. Not only will you free your mind of the craving but you will actually burn extra calories.
-Take a nice warm bubble bath! It doesn’t have to be Friday to take a nice warm bath.

-Eat your Breakfast. Research has shown that starting your day off with breakfast not only gets your metabolism going but helps you shed cravings later in the day!
-Eat 5-6 small meals per day. Don’t miss a meal even if you are hungry. When you miss meals, that is when cravings are more likely to come on strong.
-Avoid sugars because all they do is cause you to crave more sugar and leave you hungry for more!
-Eat high fiber foods. Gotta love our FREE VEGGIES. Fiber not only is so good for you but keeps you full and is a FREE food on our Lifestyle Balance Plans so you will never allow yourself to go hungry and therefore less likely to have and give into cravings.
-Mind over matter. Do you need or do you want your craving. Is it your mind or your body speaking to you? If you are hungry,
-Eat a well balanced meal plan of protein, fats and carbs. Often when you are deprived of a nutrient, you crave that nutrient. You have to learn to listen to your body. It is really about learning your mind and distinguishing which is speaking to you– mind or body?

-If you are going to give in, be sure to make smart choices and choose low calorie snacks. A few of my favorites are Organic popcorn, sugar free Jell-O, Greek Yogurt with fruit or a serving of my favorite nuts 🙂
