Sweet and Sour Turkey Balls
Ingredients:
- 1 pound extra-lean ground turkey (99% lean turkey breast)
- 1 cup ground oats (quick oats)
- 1/4 cup egg whites
- 2 tablespoons finely minced onion
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 tablespoon minced garlic
- 1 tablespoon basil
- ground pepper, to taste
- 1/4 cup low sodium chicken broth OR soy sauce
- 1/2 cup sugar free jelly
Preparation:
- In a large bowl, combine all ingredients, mixing well with a wooden spoon or your hands. Form bite-size meatballs.
- Spray a nonstick frying pan with non stick cooking spray and heat over medium-high heat. When pan is hot, add the meatballs, cover the frying pan and brown.
- Turn the meatballs over. Cover and brown about 5 minutes more, or until meatballs are cooked through.
- Serve with toothpicks.
