Sweet and Sour Turkey Balls

Ingredients:

  • 1 pound extra-lean ground turkey (99% lean turkey breast)
  • 1 cup ground oats (quick oats)
  • 1/4 cup egg whites
  • 2 tablespoons finely minced onion
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 tablespoon minced garlic
  • 1 tablespoon basil
  • ground pepper, to taste
  • 1/4 cup low sodium chicken broth OR soy sauce
  • 1/2 cup sugar free jelly

Preparation:

  1. In a large bowl, combine all ingredients, mixing well with a wooden spoon or your hands. Form bite-size meatballs.
  2. Spray a nonstick frying pan with non stick cooking spray and heat over medium-high heat. When pan is hot, add the meatballs, cover the frying pan and brown.
  3. Turn the meatballs over. Cover and brown about 5 minutes more, or until meatballs are cooked through.
  4. Serve with toothpicks.
