I need some insight, is it just me that struggles to keep Sugar Free Gum under control or is it common? How disastrous is it to the diet?

Great question Liz! No it is not just you!! Gum and competitors or dieters in general go hand and hand. It is NOT disastrous to the diet but it is to the tummy. Bloat and gas can be a consequence and side effect to chewing massive amounts of gum. Try drinking more water or teas. Note that most of the time, like many things, it is all habit. Try starting by ripping your pieces of gum into two so you are chewing less at a time and a piece lasts twice as long. As far as it being disastrous to your diet, you don’t have to worry about that but just the discomfort of the gas from the sugar alcohols.
