Back online and back in town… Hope everyone’s weekend is going well and off to a great start! It is gorgeous here, 80’s and only going to creep up into the mid to high 80’s this week!! Coming from Monterey, yesterday, where the weather was foggy and chilly, it feels great to be home! It is amazing how only a few days away and you are so ready to get back into your routine! I just love my routine, I know you all can relate! We were able to get in our workouts Wednesday and Thursday but yesterday and today with the travel, unable to hit the gym. The LA traffic made our 6 hour drive 8 hours, yes 8 hours so it made for a little bit of a long drive but we made it safe and sound! Ready to round out the weekend with an awesome workout first thing tomorrow morning. With a killer cardio/weight training workout and a trip to Costco to restock up, I am good to go and ready to start the week out right!
So The travels today lead me away from my One a day Protein shake but I made things work.
Meal 1: Protein pudding mixed with 2 rice cakes and 15 almonds (like a cereal)
Meal 2: SUBWAY STYLE… Yes, Subway it was. They offer these awesome Healthy Breakfasts now with Egg whites. I didn’t want their “breakfast sandwich” so here is what I did. LADIES WE HAVE ANOTHER ON THE ROAD HEALTHY OPTION, GET EXCITED….
Made my own salad with lettuce, cucumbers, tomatoes, peperoncini’s, bell peppers, onions, pepper and a touch of vinegar topped off with 2 of their egg whites patties that I had chopped up into squares! It was Amazing and absolutely GA AND PERFECT!!! You have to try this. Not only for breakfast but they serve these new egg whites all day so it is a great option for a healthy on the go cheap salad! 🙂

Here it is, as is:

After a Few Gina Modifications…… (topped it off with crumbled up Tamari Sesami Rice cakes and wahlaaaa)

Meal 3: QUEST BAR and an apple
Meal 4: Rice Cake with Protein Pudding… (yummy snack!) Just like a rice cake with Peanut butter but top it off with Protein Pudding and you have a delicious snack! 🙂

We made it home and I am really looking forward to a warm home cooked meal! Nothing like getting back into your kitchen and Cooking your own food as You like it!!!
We had a great time spending a short time with my dad and last night had dinner with close friends. They know how we eat so made a super yummy meal. Fresh Caught crab for an appetizer and salmon, salad and veggies for dinner. Other than dousing the food in Olive oil and Salt, definitely very healthy. This is where FLEXIBILITY and lifestyle living comes in… I NEVER use salt and when I use olive oil, obviously don’t douse my food in it but being out and at someone’s house and not wanting to be TOO picky, hey it is just Olive Oil and I will flush out the salt. Let’s just say, yes I feel it today but no biggie, moving on, right! It is just amazing how people A. use so much salt and B. the amount of Olive oil used was as much as I eat in a week! Between adding Olive oil to the veggies, instead of Pam, on the crab, and all over the salad, that is quite a bit of oil. Amazing how people just either don’t realize the amount they are using or don’t understand the calorie/fat content that adds up. Yes, Olive oil is a very healthy fat but still needs to be used in moderation. Traveling and being around other people’s eating habits makes me appreciate my lifestyle, knowledge and community I surround myself around. Ladies, I am always thinking about our family and how wonderful it is that we just get each other and understand this lifestyle. It is really hard to find people who really truly understand, grasp and can conceptualize why and how we do what we do! Feels good to be home and back on track! It usually takes a few days, no doubt but back and I am one happy camper!
Thought for the evening:
People don’t understand how good self discipline feels!
“There are Two Types of Pain in this World: The Temporary Pain of Discipline, or the Permanent Pain of Regret” — anonymous
There are two types of pain that we experience, temporary and permanent. Regardless of where you are at in your fitness journey, never regret where you have been or why you didn’t start sooner on your path towards living this lifestyle! Never have regrets or allow your past to define you and cause you pain! You committing yourself to a fit lifestyle and committing yourself here, is HUGE. You are committing yourself to embracing life and taking action to better your future! Stay with it, put any pain of regret behind you and learn to EMBRACE THE TEMPORARY PAIN OF DISCIPLINE. Nothing tastes as good as Permanent success feels! We can all experience temporary pain for long term Results!!!
Until tomorrow, enjoy your evening!!
xoxo
