Absolutely we have to keep sharing good reads! It is all about these amazing books that keep us going! The quotes, motivation, inspiration and ways of looking at things differently, makes us see things in a different light and keep pushing ourselves to get better and better! This flame is going and always going to be on fire!! It may start to die, here and there, but with all the energy around, it sure to re ignite and burn forever!

I have another one that came to mind when listening… After a show, my body is always so sore, I basically feel like a truck ran me over and that is why I always take almost a week off the gym. What do you think could cause that pain? And I’m thinking now, as I write, maybe if I’d go back earlier it could help… Any thoughts?

Claudine- Glad you enjoyed it! We should start a thread for motivational books, etc. We already have a lot listed throughout the site so maybe we can all find those and insert them into their own thread and keep it going! This would be amazing and we will come up with quite a list!! I am starting it now…
The soreness is due to a few things
-mentally you are done and get to take it all in, you are out of the heart of the zone and everything just catches up with you… Mentally you just feel exhausted from the entire prep and therefore your body feels the same way
-make sure to keep up on your glutamine
-dehydration and lack of electrolytes– this could be key. We tend to deplete water and electrolytes so this can cause serious fatigue!
I bet if you do go back a few days after your show, it would help to get rid of any lactic acid, keep the blood moving and ease your mind. You don’t have to go crazy but just to continue with some activity and keeping up with somewhat of a routine, fun and lifestyle status, that will keep you in a good place mentally and physically…

I have taken notes and I have it all planned out: list of things to remember to do (including what good recipes to try! hmmmmm!) , when to go back to the gym, when to start eating as clean as possible, when to see the coach again… Continue my early walks in the park….. etc. I have to be prepared and organized. This way, I won’t fall into the abyss! ahahahaha I am also reasonnable, there won’t be another competition soon, so I am about to experience the lifestyle “for real”! I’m so excited!!! This is all thanks to you 😀
You are going to rock after your show, why!!??? Because you are thinking ahead, planning and deep into your preparation for new goals, new ideas, a new way of looking at things and a new take on lifestyle! Glad you have your list and are continuing to add to it. With a new focus, you will not have any fear in the world and be ready to take on each task and check it off the list!! Can’t wait for you to enter and experience the amazing lifestyle and see how well you will do and how much you WILL stay on track doing less and keeping yourself in a happy positive mindset!
