Q:
I personally use Jay Robb protein because so far I haven’t found anything that comes close in taste and doesn’t have that nasty aftertaste or has granules left after mixing. I keep reading in different magazines and online about Casein whey and my protein powder doesn’t have that. Is that something I should be looking for or is it okay to just use Whey?
Q:
Casein is great too but Whey is best for your all around protein. Best is to get a blend of both but if you have to choose whey is perfect. Casein is a slower digesting protein so best for your shakes before bedtime for time released protein so your protein is digested slower i.e. keeping your metabolism working while you sleep.
You don’t have to worry about getting a casein protein before bedtime because all you have to do is add a fat such as natural nut butter, natural almonds, flax seed or oil, etc. The fats with the protein to slow down the digestion so we in a sense make our own slow digesting protein powder!! If you like Jay Robb’s and haven’t found anything else you like and that mixes well, stick with that one.
