Your Holiday choices are your own…
That’s right – it’s your choice. Enjoy the holidays but remember your choices are your own. I’m suggesting you get get on a comfy pair of running shoes and start your day with an amazing workout! A good morning workout or run will make your day start out right.
Now there’s no need to avoid the holiday festivities or eat less it is just what choices you do make, own them! There are plenty of healthy alternatives and choices you can make!
A few tips to help you make smart decisions!
1. First, don’t have the though that You will ” start your diet after the holidays.” Start Today and use the holidays as your day to “refuel”, per your program, we all need a “refuel day”. The day after the holiday, get right back on! Start today and focus on being 100%, allowing for your “refuel” on the holiday. What not a better way than to focus on a mini goal. Tell yourself if you focus and follow your program 100% you will be able to celebrate the holidays!
2. Focus on high protein foods like lean meats, eggs, and fish, nuts as the staple of your holiday meals.
3. Nuts and seeds are also great holiday choices. Not only are they high in protein and healthy fats but they keep your blood sugar steady so you have less cravings and will be able to control your portions.
4. Drink water! It’ll help fill you up and keep you hydrated! Especially while there is sickness in the air, drink your fluids to keep you healthy!
5. Choose the best alcoholic beverage choices out there. Stick with clean liquor or a glass of delicious red wine. Try to stay away from cream based drinks such as White Russians or egg nog type drinks. Avoid the heavy milk based drinks. –You’ll thank me later! 😉
6. Exercise-Move around, …. enough said.
7. Finally, remember, good habits create good feelings, and the opposite is true as well. So feel good about your choices, and feel good about yourself.
