Hope everyone is doing awesome and your week is going well! Almost all caught up and feels great! So 2nd workout since I was back was yesterday and boy am I sore! Crazy how only a few days and you feel it! My legs are tight, mostly just my lower body from the lunges and squats, woooooie….. 😉 Feels great to get back in the gym, even though we are having a heat wave and the gym is literally at least 80 degrees! I wasn’t sure how my first run back was going to be but even with the heat, I powered through and made it happen! Meals have been so fresh and tasty. Kind of funny to not have my food doused in olive oil and salt!! Great to be back in the kitchen and putting my touches on each meal! I am still feeling the seafood. yesterday had more Tilapia and a big shrimp salad for dinner. I can never have enough of the seafood, let me tell you. Order after order of Grilled Squid, while I was away. Michael asked if I was getting sick of the same thing and I told him, “absolutely not!” First of all, just love love love squid and second of all it was kind of fun to see how each restaurant prepared it. You can see some versions in the slide show i posted. Rather than cutting it up in rings, kind of interesting how they serve it. The serve it whole with slices throughout the body as to where to cut it. It was delicious!! 🙂
In US, served more like this:

where as in Italy more like this:

(kind of interesting)
MORE ON MY TRIP DETAILS TO COME LATER TODAY TO ROUND UP WHAT I LEARNED AND MORE INFO… 🙂
Thought of the day:
I really want to stress the concept of never giving up. I read and wrote a little bit about this in the forum yesterday! It is so common and normal to feel as if you are working so hard and not seeing the results you want or you feel you should be seeing, based on how hard you are working…. This is the point where you either push through or tell yourself “it isn’t working”. I cannot stress enough to never give up!
There is a Chinese Proverb that states “Be not afraid of going slowly; be afraid only of standing still.”
You may be one who is currently frustrated because you are unsure if you are obtaining the results you want and even if you are seeing some results, maybe they are not happening quick enough for you….?? It is very common for people to not grasp that even if you are not seeing physical changes, you ARE building that foundation that I constantly talk about! Success does not happen over night and those layers of bricks have to be laid down, one by one… One brick, two brick, doesn’t look like much of a masterpiece does it??? Now day after day, brick after brick, that foundation that one looked like lonely bricks is now that beautiful masterpiece that all started with those few bricks! It is definitely a slow process in which you are constantly working and learning. You may have to remind yourself that “failing” is only failure if you quit; otherwise it’s a learning opportunity. As you continue to lay down your bricks, remember you will never stop learning. One brick may be lighter than the other or seem like it was laid down quicker or easier than another but regardless don’t ever stop laying them down! So don’t worry if your progress seems to be moving in slow motion. Concentrate on building a solid foundation and learning from your process and from there your masterpiece is consistently being worked on!!
Don’t be afraid of the slow progress, have faith and just know that slow or fast progress is underway! Don’t stand still, keep moving forward and you are a success!!!
Have a happy Hump day Ladies!!!
xoxo
