The day begins… I am headed out the door, a little later than usual because today is my OFF Day. I am headed to the gym for some good ol cardio but off from the weights and circuit training!
Whether today is your off day or hump day was your day to rest, today is another day to reach for those stars. Either reaching while your body rests and recovers or reaching while you dig deep into your intense training and nutritional program!
I will be touching base more on the over training topic as this has been a huge topic of discussion and so many have questions and concerns on Intensity vs. Over training… this is such a loaded topic and one that deserves a loaded answer.
We are ALL so different in our training capabilities, goals, limitations, etc. It is important to really learn what it means to over train, when is too much, not enough, when it is okay to rest, when your body is telling you to rest or is it your mind, and do you have to work through the mental barrier?? SO much to blab about on this topic so until later… more on Over training and helping you stay on track and understanding how to overcome the mental and physical battles of our go go go, striving for excellence mentality, no matter what it takes. We have to remember the less is more mentality when it comes to any fitness program. At the same time know when less is enough… I know so much to think about. More to come later!

My day started off very very bad, and what do you know, it doesn’t look like it’s getting better as time passes. I was up at 6h00 am, to go to the gym when I saw that I forgot to prepare my lunches for the day yesterday night! ARRGH!!! SO! I’m rushing to do that: no more chicken! and the horse meat was misplaced in the fridge, I thought we were out…I got very angry at myself for not being more prepared… SO! Here I am, cooking chicken at 6h00am! Frustrated as hell. Paul wakes up around 6h30, showes me where the horse meat is…I almost screamed!!! By now it’s too late for the gym, since I have to be at the office early… SO! I prepare everything, and leave for work. We were supposed to have an all afternoon meeting with our CEO, so I didn’t bring my gym bag… It got canceled… ARRG! hahahahahaah I’m laughing as I am writing, how pathetic this must sound π But I am really upset! /$%”/$% It’s be a conspiracy π You know when we say that we have to be flexible, and be prepared for anything!? Well. I learned my lesson. Luckily, tomorrow will be nicer π
Gina, it’s so weird that the weather is so different from L.A. to SD. It’s full on sunshine here so I’m doing my best to send it your way! Jessica has some of her own too so you should be good. π
Oh, Claudine, that’s not a good turn of events there! I know you’re super strong. I’ve read about it so I’m counting on you to make today turn out just fine after all. Tomorrow will be nicer, yes, but today is going to be just fine. Maybe not great…but let’s aim for good. π It will all work out in the end. Just roll with it and be flexible. It’s not the end of the world that you didn’t get to the gym. Just keep breathing.

HORSE MEAT??? I am a little grossed out….LOL. Not sure what you mean by that. Girl, you crack me up. I’m not trying to make light of your challenging morning its just that I have SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO BEEN THERE!!!! Keep on pushing forward and just start over. Jess, Woke up with that internal sunshine too!! that’s my girl! We all love our breakfast of champions. It doesn’t get old, does it! Breakfast is my favorite meal too! Could have it anytime of the day! Actually, I kind of do with my shakes, egg whits and oats at any meal I can!! π
Caudine, No No…. Your day doesn’t have to end up as it starts. Hope you fixed that right away and did what you had to do to make things work to get back on track! I really think prepping your meals ahead of time will be your best option. Were you going to start doing that soon? When I am out of something, that is when I revert to what I do have available and that is when shakes tide me over… This is when it is GA to have your shakes “emergencies” like this! Or if you are out of chicken but have turkey, eggs or fish, go for that. What about canned tuna? I always have the packed tuna available for times like this. Grab your pack and go. These are the days where you say screw the sodium, I have to do what I have to do! You can always pop egg whites in the microwave too, as you saw in one of my videos. You can simply microwave egg whites in a tupperware with some pam and you are good to go. I hope your day unfolded better than it started. Preparation is key but in times like this, there are things you can do and you do have to make do! Each of these lessons are huge lessons that are making you a better person, more flexible, able to cope and most of all allowing you to see how important the things you need to do to get your morning off to a great start! Learning as we go… all in time! π
