Q: Gina, I have been dieting for so long and am fairly lean but I still have cellulite? It seems like no matter what I do or how lean I get, it is still there! Is there anything I can do to get rid of it?
A: Unfortunately, my honest answer is Not completely. Cellulite is a matter of age and genetics. It has everything to do with how your skin lies over the layer of adipose fat underneath it. Your best bet for reducing the appearance of cellulite is to keep working to fine tune your fitness program to change your body composition even more. Are you really as lean as you thin? You may need to lower your overall body fat with a different diet and exercise program. Also, in addition to decreasing your body fat, toning the muscles in your problem areas can help by creating a firmer surface with more muscle so the skin does not appear as loose.
