I looooooooove calamari! I’ve never tried making them at home but your tips have made me brave enough to try. Thanks!
Jackie, you must try these on your own. I know they can be a bit scary to prepare at first but you realize they are super easy (especially if you buy them frozen) and sooooo delicious! Gotta love our tentacle friends!! I came across 5 octopus’ in my freezer and those have to be cooked too. Do you like Octopus? I love it but it is quite a bit of a project to boil and cook a who octopus…. 🙂
Never tried octopus but I’ll try anything once. Is there a specific way to clean them before boiling?
It is delicious, definitely an acquired taste and very chewey. My suggestion is you buy it already cleaned and cut so all you have to do is saute or boil it. If you get the whole octopus, that is quite a job. I have a video of my cooking an octopus from way back in December. We made a seafood dinner and I made octopus, boy is it a job. Even I get the jeebers because you are messing with slimy tentacles… My nonna taught me how to make it so we had to keep it a tradition and have it for Christmas Eve but honestly, I may opt for the already cleaned and cut, next time! 🙂 Worth trying it. You can also order it out, especially at Japanese Restaurants… try it there before attempting to cook it at home. 🙂
