You are in the game if you have made up your mind that you are not going to quit. In this journey, your biggest risk of “failure” is giving up. The best part is, you are in control of this decision. If you walk off the playing field, it is your choice. If you stay in the game, it is inevitable that your dreams will become a reality. The question is how badly do you want it? Most people don’t have the patience and will walk off the field but you are not “most people”. There are times when things can be scary or doubtful. There are always going to be those that tell you you can’t do it or question why you do something, that is inevitable!
Here are a few ways to Stay in the Game:
-Take everything as a lesson. No matter what happens, it always better prepares you for what’s next.
-Find people who have successfully done it before or are in “their own game”. You are NOT alone in your journey! We can all learn from one another how to take on a “strike out”.
-Set real expectations. This may not be your typical 9 inning game so be prepared that most likely we are headed into overtime.
-Under-preparation is a leading cause of failure so do our best to always be prepared.
-Understand what you truly stand to gain from your success. If your reasons for accomplishing something are strong enough, nothing can stop you. Find your reasons and make sure they are the right reasons.
-Understand what the worst thing is that can happen if you do strike out?! It’s never as bad as you think.
-Learn to see opportunity in every situation. It is natural to see the scary or negative in each situation but train yourself to see the positive.
-Don’t Quit. Two words or in Nike Terms, three words, Just Do It!
