People do not like to take risks but without risks, you can potentially let valuable opportunities pass by. It is human nature to want to only take risks if they offer the safe and comfort of having a guaranteed outcome. If that was the case then it wouldn’t be a risk, right!? If you go along your life avoiding risks, there are so many things you are missing out on! Opportunities require risks. Risks also allow you to see your true potential. If you want to change your current state, it is going to take a risk of changing your current actions or situations and that takes taking risks. Risks do not mean doing something without thought but rather having the courage to take the initial step, seeing things through and going for it. Rather than looking at what you may gain from taking risks, look at the things you may lose from NOT taking the risks. No matter what, it is inevitable that with risk comes personal growth and achievements and that is worth it in itself! Sometimes even if you take a risk and “fail”, you end up winning anyway, because you learn valuable lessons in the process and discover your abilities.
There is a satisfying feeling and a feeling of confidence you gain when you go for something that has risk involved. It is much easier to live, knowing that you have tried something rather than the regret of never doing something. Let go of excuses. When we are facing a challenge and the possibility of failing, our mind rationalizes our fears by coming up with hundreds of “logical” reasons not to do it. Take time to reflect which reasons are real and which ones pure excuses. And start taking risks today! The more you think about whether you should take a risk or not, the less likely you will not do it. Courage is not something we are born with. It is a quality that we develop with practice. Challenge your fears by starting to take small risks now!
