Good Morning and another Hump day… Feels like we just had one! It is going to be a great day! Yesterday had a great shoulder workout with Trainer Jess. Instead of me putting her through a circuit, we actually got to workout together. Been a while since I have trained with one of my girls. We had fun. This was our workout…
All 3 sets of about 15
shoulder presses with dumbbells
ez bar press
front raises with reverse grip
side lateral raises with reverse grip
combo front raise with side lateral raise
stationary staggered leg squat press
sprint 1/4 mile
100 crunches
sprint 1/4 mile
100 crunches
Great way to start the day~!
The rest of my day was full of working from home. I was able to get in a 25 minute run/walk last night. I had been feeling really “buffalo like”, not sure why. As I was running, learned something new about myself. This is no joke… Often my traps start to really hurt while I am running. It doesn’t happen all the time but it happens! Why only sometimes? Still wearing two sports bras, nothing different??? I started thinking about it and came to the conclusion that whenever I am holding water, and know when those days are!, those are the days I start to feel the pain in my traps… I think because I just feel heavier! Okay sounds funny and probably up surd but I realized that is exactly when I have the pain in my traps. When I am feeling lighter than a bird, I can run with the wind, pain free… hummmm don’t think this was a fluke but going to take note from here on out! Interesting… You start to really learn your body more and more each day! To anyone else they would think you were crazy and full of baloney if you said this but I am sure you all can relate that we just know when our bodies are off and this affect so much of everything we do, physically to mentally. Crazy…
I wanted to mention something else. I have really been taking note at my skin lately and noticing I have been on the dryer side! As we age we lose collagen and elasticity. It is important to keep our skin hydrated
and use natural products to keep our skin moisturized yet not clogged! Of course a few things are essential for this: hydration with fresh water, healthy fats (fish oils, evoo, efa’s), a moisturizing lotion or oil. I have recently switched over to Grapeseed Oil and love it! I have ditched the lotion and have fallen in love with Grapeseed oil!

Here is some info on this fabulous oil…
Grapeseed oil is made from the seeds of grapes, which are often leftover after wine making. Grape seed oil is used in cooking and is a staple in cosmetics.
Grapeseed oil is the preferred ingredient for cosmetics intended for use on damaged or stressed skin, for example, sunburned skin. Grapeseed oil has both regenerative and restructuring properties that help the skin maintain health.
Grapeseed oil is light in texture and is a good addition to any cosmetic recipe. Grapeseed oil also contains antioxidants that maintain health of both skin and body. Grapeseed helps reduce free radicals, and has anti-aging properties.
Grapeseed oil contains large quantities of vitamin E and C, both of which have anti-aging properties. Vitamin E is especially good for aging skin, making grapeseed oil perfect for anti-aging recipes. Vitamin D is also provided by grapeseed oil, and is a wonderful addition to the diet.
Grapeseed oil is tasteless, and worked well in lip balms and glosses, and since grapeseed oil has a very light texture it is good oil for use in the summer months when heavy oils are too cloying. Grapeseed oil can be used for any skin type, and won’t cause pores to become clogged.
Grapeseed oil also is very good at restructuring the hair, making it shiny and healthy. Using grapeseed oil as a serum around the eyes can be an easy way to reduce fine lines and wrinkles. Not to mention its ability to reduce the appearance of stretch marks! This is an amazing oil to keep you skin fresh, soft and flawless! 🙂
Ever thought about switching over to oils instead of lotions?? You should give it a try!
Have a healthy and hydrating day!!!
hugs,
G
