Now that Christmas is behind us, it is inevitable that you may have indulged– maybe a little too much! First of all, it is okay! Do NOT beat yourself up over it! Its a new day and what is done is done. Now we can focus on finishing off the year strong and taking the steps to get us back on track. If you are feeling a bit bloated and puffy, I’ve got you covered. Here are some quick and effective ways to “de bloat” and “de puffy” yourself. 😉
DRINK YOUR WATER!
When you are feeling bloated and “fluffy”, drinking water is the best thing you can do! It helps to shed that excess water that you may be carrying around from the excess alcohol, sodium, fats and sugar! It helps to restore your bodies balance dad get it functioning efficiently again! I always recommend 3/4- 1 gallon a day but this is a time I would say you must get in a gallon a day! Read more of the benefits of hydration HERE.
REMOVE EXCESS SALT
If you are feeling uncomfortable and a bit bloated from the holiday season, it could be because you have consumed too many foods high in salt. This is completely normal, especially when you are eating out or someone else’s incredible recipes. 95% of recipes use salt and most don’t use the good pink Himalayan sea salt, they use the ionized table salt. If you follow a lower salt diet or use the good salt, no doubt your body is going to negatively react to excess amounts of table salt. Salt can cause your body to hold on to excess water and may give you that puffy, bloated feeling. The best way to feel better and shed this excess water weight is to stay away from salty foods and give your body a chance to shed the excess water. EAT ASPARAGUS
Asparagus a natural diuretic and is an easy way to help you “de bloat”. Simply add asparagus to your meals. In the morning, add it to your omelets and at dinner add it to your veggie medley. By adding in a few spears here and there, it will help you shed that unnecessary water and leave you feeling so much better!
