Happy Hump day! Another successful day and just shy of another week of my pregnancy progress…
Here is the rundown for today.
Meal #1: 1/4 cup steel cut oats, 1/4 cup wheat bran, berries and 1 scoop protein
Meal #2: bell pepper egg white omelet with an apple
Meal #3: cabbage broccoli slaw sauté with turkey breast and 1/2 avocado Nori Wraps
Meal #4: 1 1/4 cup Trader Joe’s Organic High Fiber Cereal with a protein shake
Meal #5: salad with green beans and tilapia fillet
Meal #6: Protein shake with Chia seeds
I love cereal and around meal #4 have been craving a big bowl so having it and enjoying every bite! 🙂
Cardio: 50 minutes treadmill 30/20 18% incline at 4.8mph. Feeling great and loving my energy during cardio.  I have to say, my energy levels aren’t as high as when I am able to have my full caffeine coffee and am not carrying the little bit of extra weight but doing my cardio first thing in the morning really gets my energy going and makes me feel so great. Working out first thing has always been something that starts out my day right. Without that surge of intensity, my day is just not the same. Amazing how we have the ability to increase our energy levels naturally yet so often turn to non natural or external sources such as high caffeinated drinks, stimulants, etc. Pregnancy really makes you turn inward and stay on track with your choices. It makes you see that everything you need you already have within you and it is just a matter of bringing it out by what you eat, how you think and your perception on things. Pregnancy, I have found, makes you listen to your body more than you ever have before. It really makes you in tune with yourself. Even when you thought you were in tune, it takes that to a whole other level that is unexplainable.
Tomorrow marks 17 weeks and doing great! Loving being back home and so appreciative of my life here in San Diego, the weather, my friends, family, support system, etc. It has been really hot here but I am loving it. After being in Washington DC, no San Diego heat or humidity can get to me. 😉
I am starting to put together my registries and that has been fun but geez, so many things and it is hard to know where to start and what are the absolute necessities. I am someone who wants what I need but not anything more. I am quite a simple girl who likes things as simple as possible. Starting to put things together but really trying hard to learn and ask people so I can keep things realistic and practical. I will keep you posted. This is such a fun new chapter. Thinking of toys, car seats, strollers, oh… how times have changed and what an exciting chapter! 🙂
Until tomorrow… Hugs, Gina
