Today was a high energy day! Got in a killer cardio workout this morning, booking it on the treadmill. I am changing it up and going to be doing more incline walking rather than step mill. Loved my good ol day treadmill workout, felt good to sweat and walk at a good pace. It is kind of crazy but I can tell, immediately upon waking, how my energy is going to be. I always get up at that 5:05 alarm, if not before, eat my first meal and then if it is a high energy day, I continue to work until about 7 before starting my day. If it is going to be a lower energy day, I find myself going back to bed, after meal #1, until my 6-7 a.m. get up. No back to bed this morning so I knew it was going to be a great day.
Why get up so early, you may ask…. Because A. I am a breakfast lover and wake up hungry, literally wake up to eat and B. I am a morning girl and love love love my quite mornings. I am the most productive then so like to get up early and take advantage of my early rising!
After cardio and clients, I had a lunch date with a girlfriend, who is also pregnant. It was fun to get together and talk babies. She is about 6 weeks ahead of me so had tons of info to share and it was fun to chat and relate to each other. Tomorrow marks 14 weeks for me so officially into my 2nd trimester. Some say 13 weeks, some say 14 so either way, I am officially into my second trimester tomorrow, according to everyone. 🙂 Making my way through each day and doing great. They say that energy starts to increase over the next coming weeks so I am ready for my “get up and go” energy to come back every day. Of course, regardless, I am on it with my naps. No matter if it is a lower or higher energy day, naps are so important and I get 1 in a day! 🙂
Here is a breakdown of my day:
Meal #1: 1/2 cup mixed grain oats, 1/4 cup wheat bran with 1 scoop protein and strawberries (switched it up this morning and didn’t have my egg whites but rather a scoop of protein in my oats/bran. It just sounds good and as I am typing sounds good for tomorrow too, as of now 😉
Meal #2: 6 egg whites with an apple
Meal #3: Lunch out with a girlfriend– Veggie Salad with Avocado Lime Dressing topped with Chicken 🙂
Meal #4: Lemon Protein Pancakes with side of 1/4 cup PB2 and Chia seeds
Meal #5: Zucchini with lean ground turkey breast topped with Salsa
Workout of the day, cardio only:
50 minutes Incline Treadmill speed 4.4-4.7 @ 15% incline 🙂
