Long ago came about the understanding of the 4 elements of life, earth, water, fire and wind. These were considered the building blocks of the Universe, and many be believed that these were also elements that function within ourselves and are the building blocks of who we are!
Use these 4 elements of life as metaphors for all that encompasses our Foundation of living this Healthy Balanced Lifestyle.
*WATER: Train your mind to be like still water. Let your energy and attitude flow like water, around and over obstacles rather than through them with force. Detoxify your body with fresh water daily and when you can swim in the ocean to reconnect yourself with mother nature.
*EARTH: Eat foods that are close to the earth, such as organic veggies, grass fed beef, etc. This food has more nutrients, a higher energy and is not contaminated with the hormones and chemicals often used in the preparation of processed foods.
*WIND: Learn to breathe properly! Breath with slowed, controlled movements. It is one of the most beneficial skills to learn and develop – basic yet not easy to do without practice. Yoga is a great way to practice this technique and enhance your personal “wind”.
*FIRE: First, get outside and into the sun. We are like plants and need the sun for optimum health. Second, create your one personal, internal fire. Flush and detoxify your system with a great sweat, then replenish with a ton of fresh water. Third, be your own personal fire to find that inner motivation and allow your spirit and drive to light your flame!
