Hello G-Fit family! Well guess what!??? I am gonna be a mommy too!! Just trying to fit in around here..LOL Just kidding, we found out about 7 weeks ago! I still had not started my cycle andit was that time to go in for my girlie check up and she said well you wont be getting it any time soon, your pregnant! Well Dex and I were beyond excited and still are, we are so looking forward to be parents!! So obviously that means no comps for me this year..oh well this is much more exciting for now! I am aprox. 12 weeks right now, and go in for my next ultra sound wednesday! Really looking forward to seeing the baby and the heart beat..So cool.
As for how I have been felling over these last 12 weeks, that's another story!! The 1st few weeks before I actually knew, I knew something was up..I thought maybe I was getting sick, I was super tired and was having a hard time breathing on the cardio machine! And then on top of the tired-ness the sickness started in :( booooo that was horrible! Im finally past that, and have started back to hitting the gym a few days a week..But I had taken up Pilates about a month ago and I love it! Been super good for stretching and toning and making me feel smaller! (which I really want right now) Nothing like not being bale to fit in your fav. clothes, just feeling squishy and soft. Not quite showing yet but, for sure everything is widening!
I have also dicovered that I am very anemic, which I already had a borderline issue with before. But now I have to take supplements and incorporate more beans, meat and spinach into my diet..the meat is the only really weird part considering I hardly ever eat red meat...But I guess I will do what Im told! :)
Glad to catch you all up, just wanted to make sure I was in the safe zone before I let the cat out of the bag! Keep you all posted!!

Hey Jess!!! SO glad you figured things out and brought everyone up to date!!! Glad you like it! :) 6 months already, wow! I am glad you are going to post photos! I was thinking, what do you think of a post show, pre motherhood video to update the girls on everything and the "life of jess, post journey". ?? I have had a few ladies ask about you and curious about your transition and of course, now that you are pregnant, how you are doing things! That would be so fun to reconnect and check in with you!!!
I have heard how different everyone's pregnancy is ... hummmm just like with everything, every BODY is different, right!!??? So true with everything, I guess! :)SO glad you are doing well, getting to the gym, sweating it out, eating every few hours and just feeling great!! Can't wait to see photos and for your continuous updates!!
thanks for posting!
big hugs to you!!!!Posted 2 years ago # -

Thanks Gina for posting those!! Hi everyone, yes how different a year can be! I am due this coming Monday, Sept. 5th...She scheduled an induction for the 10th if he doesn't come on his own! Hopefully he will though, we are beyond excited and ready! All of our friends and family are waiting and checking in everyday!!! Believe me I want him here now too people!!! This journey has really been amazing to say the least, I have so much respect for mammas who do this more then once or twice! Or the ladies that have multiples!!
I have been walking just about everyday, some days twice a day..anywhere between 2-4 miles with my dog! Thank god for her, she is my reason for getting up early everyday! As far as my workouts through out this 10 months I was really able to do just about everything until around month 6/7, then I started modifing...meaning less weight, more stretching. I did pilates and yoga 2-3 days a week until month 7, then it was uncomfortable for me to lay flat on my back. And in this last month I have just been walking and doing body weight squats and a light upper body circuit twice a week. The main issues were with my diet, especially in the begining...all I craved was carbs, mostly to settle my stomach but then because I was always hungry! I mean like every hour!!! Then that passed around 6 months but by then I had already put on about 25 lbs! (and when I got prego I was about 10lbs over weight)..SO I strated at 150..and as of today I am 188!!!!! As you can see in my face in these pictures!! LOL Holly cow! My normal weight is around 140, and comp weight was about 133...So My poor body has been through some serious changes this last year!!! I can not weight to get back into the gym and a reg. workout routine!! I stocked the freezer with lots of chicken, tilapia and shrimp for the next few weeks that I will be at home! And frozen veggies...no excuses not to eat clean!!! Just got my order of Quest bars for snacks, and a new jug of protein powder! Im a m ready!! SO here's to another few days of waiting...wish me luck!!! xoJB

Oh my gosh Jess, I am on the edge of my seat and think about you daily!!! Can't wait to hear and let everyone know! You have been doing so amazing! Ladies, I have walked with Jess a few times and she has not slowed down her pace. A few times I had to ask her if I was walking too fast and she looked at me like i was crazy... lol. Jess Kept up with all her activity, as she mentioned, and really listened to her body! Sounds like you are already well prepared and ready for the post pregnancy band wagon with all your Gina Approved Goodies! Look at you! Ladies, that is what I call Planning ahead! Very excited for you and we wish you all the best of luck! I will let all the ladies know as soon as I get word! After words we will definitely have to catch an interview with you so you can tell us all about your journey towards motherhood! Enjoy these last few minutes, hours, days because your life is about to change and be the best thing ever! xxooo

Jess - wow! What gorgeous pictures! U look absolutely beautiful! Can't wait to find out when Kai decides to come into this world- enjoy every minute- it goes by fast. No worries on the weight gain- u actually have done very well with your pregnancy gain and u look great!

Wow! I've been gone from the forum for awhile & I see I've missed quite a bit! Jess you look so beautiful & glowing! What a beautiful couple!! Everytime I was pregant I gained at least 50lbs, with all the cravings, but I didn't worry because I knew that I was an active healthy person & that I would lose it eventually. I just enjoyed the whole process of being pregnant, well at least until the end when I felt like I was going to be prego for the rest of my life! I wish you the smoothiest birth ever & can't wait to see pics of Kai!

JUST AN UPDATE THAT NO WORD FROM JESS YET... I WILL KEEP EVERYONE POSTED. WE ARE THINKING ABOUT YOU JESS!!! :)

Hi everyone! Thank you so much for the well wishes :) I can't stand this waiting!!! I wish I would have at least worked through last week, I have been home now for about a week and a half and I am going crazy!!! I have had no signs of labor what so ever, is this what I get for being in "good shape" LOL... I go in tomorrow for a stress test on the baby to make sure he's doing ok in there still :) and of course they will check me and see if anything is changing down there!! Im praying they say ok great you can just stay..your ready! I have been praying all day for that!!!
To pass the time I drove up to Palm Springs with Dex for the day on Monday ( my due date) he played a practice round of golf in 105 weather with crazy humidity..and I hung out in the golf cart hoping all the bouncing around would get Kai to come out! Then we walked the outlet mall..but nothing. I can honestly say we have tried everything except the castor oil..Im not going there! So If not tomorrow they have me scheduled for the 10th @ 9pm to be induced..so I will keep you all updated!!Posted 1 year ago # -
Jess my daughter was 2 weeks late so you just have to be patient he will come when he is ready... With my son it was a different story. My water broke & nothing happened. The midwives had me drink castor oil to try & start my labor. It did nothing but give me terrible hemorrhoids!! I was wanting a home birth, but had to go to the hospital & be induced. I have 3 kids & each birth was entirely different. Relaxing is the best thing to do because Kai will be here soon. Is there a pool where you can swim? That floating around & weightless movement helps get things started sometimes. Best of Birthing to you!

HI HI!!! Well yes he is finally here! Kai will be 2 weeks old this Sunday (tomorrow), I can't believe how fast time is already flying! So wow where to start with the whole delivery experience....It all started Saturday night when we arrived at the hospital, it was around 9pm. I was scheduled to be induced, so they checked me in and got started right away with a suppository that is meant to soften the cervix. Each dose takes 4 hours to work and we went through 2 of those, so 8 hours later and some where in between I had my epidural! All was moving along until they started me on the pitocin. Kai did not like that at all! His little heart rate kept jumpiing and then dropping, it was kinda scary. Every time they would try to roll me to my right side his heart rate would drop and they would have to move me back to my left side..and without saying 23 hours of laying on your left side in pain in hell! To top it off I was having crazy bcak labor, due to the fact he was sunny side up..PS: epidurals dont work on the back only the waste down! UGGGGG. A few times the DR. came in and mentioned a C- Section because they weren't sure why his heart rate kept dropping.. Well by 8:15 Sunday night I finally got to a 10 and it was time to push..I got him out in 15 min! What an experience, truly an amazing thing the body can do! I know women have been having babies since the dawn of time, but until you experience it You really don't know...
Well turns out he had the chord around his neck twice and he came out not breathing! Super emotional, but kaiser did an incredible job and he was in my arms in less then 5 min. Then they had to take him the the Special Care unit to watch over night, which turned into 3 days...So 4 days in the hospital, and then it was home :) I can not say enough good things about Kaiser! And now here we are 2 weeks later... So now the good stuff
I was 152 when I found out I was pregnant, so a good 10lbs over my normal weight (6 weeks post comp) And the day I delivered I was a whopping 190..Yea you read that right! LOL im 5'5...So of course I weighed my self when I got home :) I am happy to report that with 90% clean eating I have lost almost 30lbs! As of yesterday I was 159.8, so that's very incouraging! We started walking monday and Im feelin stronger everyday! Next week I will start adding crunches, push ups and body weight squats at home. Im healing very quickly and I like to think it's because I stayed so active during my pregnancy...So here's to the next 2 weeks, lets see what my body can do!Posted 1 year ago # -
Hey Jess!! WOW, 2 weeks down and what a past 3 weeks it has been from your waiting period to labor to now 2 weeks later being a full on mother! What a scary experience with Kai being under so much stress but so glad everything worked out and he looks so beautiful, healthy and happy! I could only imagine the feeling, experience and journey from full term to lying there with a baby YOU created, amazing! Our bodies are so amazing! Love how your post pregnancy journey is unfolding and just as I expected, nothing less than a smooth transition! Congratulations on 2 weeks of success already! You are already back in action and such a good role model for other ladies, mothers and of course for Kai! Starting him off on the fitness food, getting him out, walking and teaching him about healthy eating and choices. This is where it begins! Wow, almost down to your pre pregnancy weight, you go girl!! Sounds like it was your activity and being so healthy when you got pregnant that has allowed your body to bounce back so quickly! You continue to inspire!! Keep up the great work and 90% clean eating, that is a very balanced and realistic approach! Thanks for your updates and we look forward to your continued success! You go girl! :) Jess's journey continues!
