Hey Jess! Per Gina's update, GREAT job with the morning cardio. Getting up early for cardio in general is one thing, adding in the 3hr time difference can be a S.O.B. HUGE congrats. Keep up the good work! Once you get back, getting up for morning cardio is going to be a breeze!

Yes, so proud of Jess for her first travel while on this journey. We will check in with her soon, via podcast, to see how things are going. Traveling never gets easier but if you are prepared it can make all the difference... looks like jess is well prepared, mentally and physically!! Great job Jess!!!

Hello hellooooo everyone! I am home safe and sound from my trip to NYC!! Had the most amazing time there, feeling very inspired and motivated!! I went to a 4 day intensive Bumble and Bumble workshop. I am a Network Educator for my salon so all very exciting. But thankfully all my prep for the trip went off without a hitch! Was fully prepared the whole time! I was spot on with my cardio and was able to do most of my weight training as well! The restaurants in the city were amazing and very accomodating too! Iwas able to special order fish one night another night we did sushi..I had sashimi and steamed asparagus with a salad! Another night just ordered a salad and brought one of my grilled fish with me ..:) Last night was grilled chicken and vegetables and a large salad! So easy to eat clean. Luckly i went with a really cool girl from my salon who was so supportive of my diet and helped me stay focused! She even got up with me and worked out!!! So awesome!
But boy was I ready to be home ad get back into my usual routine! I missed 'MY' gym and being on 'MY' schedule! Really reminds myself to be thankful for what I have here at home :) But no rest for me, home late Thursday night and right back to work Friday and Sat. plus no breaks from training either :) But I am 'choosing' to do this, no one is making me. SO that keeps me focused on me and my goals! And it sure feels good to be doing great things for my body! Sorry I was off line the whole time but we were super busy, but Im back now and I will be meeting with Gina tomorrow for pictures and weigh in, measurements and all updates! So until tomorrow...xo JB

Jess, great job!!! I'm so glad it went so well for you. How great that your coworker was so supportive! You did a great job and were fully prepared. So happy for you! Can't wait for updates and missed you while you were gone! I'm sure you're happy to be back and back to your routine. I think I get to meet you in a couple of weeks at Nikee's show! Yeah!

Jess, so glad you made it home, safe and sound!! I am glad to have you back... muahhhhh... ;) I am so proud of you for sticking to your plan and your travels went smooth because of your mental and physical preparation! Sounds like you had the support from your girlfriend too so that helped make things easier!
Eating out can be a piece of cake, if you just know how to manipulate the menu and your choices. Sounds like you did that perfectly and glad the restaurants were accommodating, which normally they are...
Our routines are so wonderful and what keeps us on track. I hear you and totally know what you are saying, how good it feels to be back on track and in your routine! We all knew you were busy but now you are back and excited to continue sharing your journey with everyone! So proud of you girlie for traveling safe and on the plan! It can be done, why??? because You choose to!!! :) We all have choices and that is what it is all about! ;) xo

Hello all! So exciting updates :) Weighed in Monday and Im still just down 5lbs in 4 weeks, but lost some inches!!!!! Wahoooo
1/4 off both my arms and waist. 1/2 inch off my hips, thighs, and upper thigh! No change in the calf but that's ok :) So really good progress for 4 weeks! Im very happy with the way my body is changing! And I still have 12 1/2 weeks left! Wow I hope the next few weeks go by as fast as the first 4!! I had a great workout this am! Gina has me going hard and it feels good.... I will be joining her at the show next weekend! I will be helping Nikee back stage, and keeping Gina company! Hope to meet some of you guys there!

Hey Jess!!!! Yes less about the weight And look at the inches coming down, so perfect and just shag we want!! You look phenomenal and the sky is the limit! These next 12 weeks are going to continue to unfold perfectly! You are in such a great place! Ladies Ed tool jess's progress photos and I can't wait for her to post them! :) 4 weeks 5 lBS (which is a lot of weight in 4 weeks!), measurements down -- perfect!

Keep up the great work! So glad you're enjoying your journey and again how lucky for you to have your right-hand woman with you all the way. Our little Gina is beyond amazing. What you said in the podcast is soooo true - she is there more than 100%! Best decisions I have made in a long time - choosing to compete and choosing (and being chosen of course) Gina!!

Jess is doing great and yes, so proud of her for tackling the travels! If you can tackle the travels, while following a program, you can tackle anything!!! Mentally, Jess is in a great place. If the mental strength is there, the physical strength will follow. With mental strength, anything is possible and anything can be overcome!

AWWW. I LOVE COMING ON HERE ! Instant pick me up!!! Should have come on last night when I got off work, I was in a rare mood and everyone was in my way. You feel me on that ladies?! I think I am having a huge PMS week and it is cramping my style! I had a super long day yesterday, all was well with the day ( as far as meals and such) but I was having wicked cravings! Like always when it's that time of the month. SO what did I do?!! I know you are on the edge of your seat...with being 5 weeks into my prep?? I went to YOGURT LAND and had a cup of sugar free/nonfat fro yo! Soooo NOT on my plan, but I am human and I caved! YES it was really good and No I didn't want to share this info, but of course the guilt set in. But now it's off my chest and I had a perfect day today :) still kinda mad at my self but I have 12 weeks left and I vow to make them count!!! But seriously still PMS is kicking my ass! Weird that I still have those symptoms but I have already stopped getting my cycle?!
On another note...I am so looking forward to next weekend with Gina in LA and meeting some of the girls!!! We should have such a good time!~ Love to u all

AWWW, so the truth comes out... ;) Ladies, I received a text from Jess last night regarding her cravings and that 5 weeks and they had hit her hard... I suggested a few things:
-Cucumber with stevia,
-yummy jicima,
-or adding a touch of sugar free syrup on top of her last meal: no carb protein pancake (those things always tend to help with sweet cravings)I reminded Jess that it was "mind over matter" at this point... I called to check in on Jess and didn't hear back until just now... Jess, thank you for being honest and open, getting this off your chest. We all make mistakes and YES, you are human. A few things:
- I am proud of you for being honest and letting me/us know so we can help you move on... which is sounds like you have already done yourself ;)
- I am glad you opted for sugar free/fat free and didn't go for full fat Ice Cream (okay so you made a smart choice--- looking at the positive here!!)
- As I mentioned when we first began the journey, "I am here for you for your ups and here for you during your downs". Here is me picking you back up and getting you back on track. I am here for you and appreciate you being real with everyone but more than that being real with yourself! Put it in the books, turn the page and moving on!

Wow the change is amazing, it is crazy how important it is take note of the measurements and the bodyfat change as opposed to the scale.. you look awesome Jess!!! You are keeping me motivated, and I can't wait to see you meet your goal! If I lived in the States I would be at that competition for sure!

Jess, so glad you posted the truth here! So important to know all sides of the contest prep. That's what I love about being able to follow you and your journey. So, you hit a little bump in the road. I'm sure you got right back in the driver's seat and you're zooming off at high speed. I can see it! You're ready for it this time.
As for the PMS, I would call myself a PRO since I get mine every 3 weeks! LOL!!!!! I do find a lot of things here to help me though. The One Minute Chocolate Protein Cake has helped me tremendously! And I'm not even really a chocolate person! But I am, however, a cake person. As for the cold and creamy, are you a Pro Dessert gal? I'm not but then girls that are swear by it. Or maybe you could get Gina to put some Greek yogurt in your plan. Mix that up with some protein powder and it is HEAVEN, I swear!! And also the jicama, as Gina mentioned, but I dip it in a "cinnamon sugar" - cinnamon and sugar substitute (of course I use Just Like Sugar)...that is delish too!

And I love, love , love being out doors! As much as my schedule allows! My girlfriend and I had a very exciting and active day! We started off with an hour long hike through Torrey Pines and then on to the beach for about 20 min. of bike riding and finished it off with an hour of paddle boarding :) So amazing! Felt so good and worked on my tan too! Gonna kill it this week, really looking forward to this weekend! xoxo
