Happy Monday! Today is Week 3/Day 1 of my journey and I am feeling GREAT and on a roll. Two weeks behind me!! WOOHOO!! I haven't lost much weight, but my clothes fit a bit differently (better!) and I am noticing changes in the mirror. I'm not as "puffy" and I am feeling strong. I started my journey at 121 lbs. Then week 2 I went to 121.5, but I am blaming that on "bloating" (if you know what I mean...) and this morning I weighed in at 118.5. I haven't weighed this since college. Even so, it isn't the scale that I'm focused on, it is how I am feeling, how my clothes are fitting, and the changes, however small they may be, that I'm seeing in the mirror. My stomach is flat and I am looking forward to hopefully seeing a 6 pack one day.
Friday night we went out to dinner with the in-laws. I planned my meal ahead of time and stuck to it when I got there. When everyone got dessert (brownies with ice cream and key lime pie) I ordered a coffee, and loved every sip. The willpower is still in full force! Everyone was complaining how full and uncomfortable they were feeling on the ride home, and I felt great knowing I put delicious clean food in my body in just the right amount to leave me feeling full, satisfied and excited to witness yet another visit from my willpower :o)
Saturday I went back to the Apple store to get my iPod fixed, and I got bad news....it died. So I broke down and got the iPod Touch. I was SOOO excited to get home and create a new playlist for my cardio and the computer wasn't working. I took it to get fixed and after doing testing, poking, pulling, plugging, rebooting, the tech said...it died. What is going on!! So today I will be ordering a laptop. Just when I think I can save a few bucks, it goes out the window. Oh well, at least I'll have some new toys to play with.
Sunday morning I did my healthy shopping for the week. I hit the local produce place and got lots of fresh green veggies and made a zucchini protein loaf. DELICIOUS! I roasted some brocolli, zuchini, and mushrooms with some spices and cooked some salmon with lemon and pepper for dinner and it was wonderful. We ate outside, the weather finally broke yesterday and the humidity was down and it was about 80. What a great day! Some friends stopped over after dinner and we sat outside for a few hours. Great way to end a great weekend.
I started my Vision Board and after I was done putting up my pictures, I noticed a "theme"...lots of ab pictures. I am determined to have killer abs in the near future.
Looking forward to another week and starting my vacation week at 4:30 p.m. this Friday!
Here are a few things I learned about myself during week 2:
1. I LOVE lifting weights. It makes me feel strong both physically and mentally.
2. I do not like cardio, no matter how hard I convince myself that I do.
3. Great music gets me through cardio...(hence the very necessary iPod Touch purchase)
4. I used to think I didn't have time to take care of myself since I worked and had 2 small children. But, I now realize that when I take time to take care of myself, I actually have MORE time to take care of everything and everyone else too!!!
5. And lastly, not only do I have the willpower to say no to peanutbutter pie, but to brownies with ice cream AND key lime pie too. :o)
