Oh no Michelle, I am not omitting Snacks but my Protein Drinks as Snacks. Instead of having my Shakes 2-3x/day, I have removed them for whole quality food, whether it be egg whites, lean protein, etc. ;) Still getting in all my meals 5-7, just all in quality foods and not processed shakes.

Liz, That is/was my favorite nighttime meal "snack" but as you know, I am omitting my shakes for a month so this is where I am needing to change things up! I have to say the morning--dinner is no problem with my No Shake Challenge, (I am adjusting well) but it is the late nights that tend to be the hardest and you would understand with your Blended Casein Wonderfulness! ;) My night time "ice cream" does the trick but without it, needing to find new tricks. Going to have to take myself up on some of my pointers and bust out the Jell-O, Veggies (grilled and raw like our favorite cucumbers) and thank you for the reminder Kale Chips definitely will help, offering a little extra crunch to my evenings! :)

My absolute favorite late night snack is a big, thick, icy, blended, chocolate casein protein shake (my husband I used to sit on the couch and I'd eat this "ice cream" and he had his real ice cream)! That with some smucker natural PB is the best late night snack (well, the best clean late night snack). I also like kale chips with garlic salt (broil kale in the oven with garlic salt sprinkled on). I also like sugar-free jello.

For the day time, I also love cucumbers. They are so refreshing and crispy which is a texture I love!

I have been hearing chatter about Snacking and have catered some of my posts to this very important topic. Snacking can be a deal maker or a deal breaker! I have listed some of my favorite snacks, please list some of yours. Let's come up with a go to snack list for both during the day and late night munchies...
I will start and repeat some of my favs. Let's get creative and see what we can come up with! If we have our approved go to snacks, this will really help in a time of need!!

A. During the day
-PB & J wraps or rice cakes
-almonds
-tbsp nut butter
-sliced veggies (love sliced peppers, cucumbers (with stevia-my fav), jicima)
-green shake
-popcorn (my favorite treat)
-protein pancake
-bowl of whole grain cereal-- oatmeal, cream of rice OR even a dry cereal to munch on
-egg whites, always a great choice
-Seaweed (Nori) snacks

B. Late night
-almonds
-sliced raw veggies
-grilled veggies
-green shake
-sugar free popsicles
-sugar free popsicles coated in PB :) (jelly flavor makes for the best PB & J Pop)
-NO carb pancakes
-Night time tea
-nut butter (this can be dangerous at night so only if I feel strong to stick with a serving....)

More ideas.... ??
