Hope everyone had a wonderful day and are ready to tackle the week! Do you know what it feels like to be “in the zone”? I know you all do! You have had those moments where you are “in the zone” and then those moments where you just aren’t… When you get in the zone, there is nothing like it. You feel like you are on cloud nine and could just do anything you set your mind to! As you embark upon your journey, there are going to be days where you are feeling it and in that zone and then days where you just aren’t. When you are in the zone, I want you to take advantage of it and on those days that you are just not in the zone, don’t get frustrated. You have to have those days in order to know what the “in zone” feeling is like. Success is rolling with the “in the zone” days and moving past the days where you just are not in that zone. As long as you take it one day at a time and roll with the days, as they come, you will reach that finish line!
Today was an “in the zone” day! Walking in the gym with 3 miles on my agenda and walked out with 10 miles under my belt! WOW, what a feeling. Hitting that 3 mile mark and could go longer. Hit that 4, 5, 6 mile mark and was in the zone. There is no way to describe it but IN THE ZONE. Hit that 7 mile mark and with deep breaths was still going and could go and go… letting my music and zone mentality take me to mile 10. 90 minutes later, that was the longest I have ever ran. I know several of you have ran marathons and are endurance athletes so you can relate to this runners “zone mentality”. What an amazing feeling!
I stopped at 10 not because my body or mind was done but because my right foot starting hurting because I was wearing my Nike Frees which are not meant for long distances…. needless to say, 10 miles later–accomplished!
Lessons to be learned:
-ONE STEP AT A TIME, YOU CAN AND WILL DO IT
-WHEN YOU ARE IN THE ZONE, GO WITH IT
-MIND OVER MATTER
-BREATH DEEPLY AND YOU CAN OVERCOME ANY MENTAL OR PHYSICAL BARRIERS
-THE MINUTE YOU HAVE A MENTAL BLOCK, LET IT GO, BREATH AND JUST PUT ONE FOOT IN FRONT OF THE OTHER
-WHEN YOU ARE IN THE ZONE, GO WITH IT AND JUST MOVE!
Winners never quit and quitters never win….They just know how to take advantage of that “in the zone” frame of mind.
The “in the zone” feeling and mentality will come and go and when it comes, go with it and just remember, one foot in front of the other!
