About the Personal Log

JOURNAL AND KEEP TRACK OF YOUR PROGRESS!

a special message from Gina

Keeping a personal log that tracks your nutritional intake, exercise routine, supplementation along with a detailed analysis of how you feel, is one of the most powerful tools that will help you reach your fitness goals! Logging your daily progress helps you stay motivated and holds you accountable. Your personal log also serves as a means to reflect on things you may have done, or not done, that made you look, feel and act a certain way! Often you don’t realize, until you start logging, what the missing ingredient(s) are to your current fitness program. Keeping track of your progress and being aware of your choices can only help you, in your journey, to learning more about what works best for you! Your personal log will enable you to look back and learn from your mistakes and see patterns that you may not have known existed!

By logging your daily routine, you are also able to track your energy levels and overall emotional state. You can learn so much from tracking your intake and output, allowing you to adjust your nutrition and fitness program accordingly. For example, feeling drained throughout the day, can mean you are not supplying your body with the nutrients necessary to replenish, recover, build lean muscle and decrease body fat. Maybe by reviewing your log, you are able to pinpoint a food you ate that made you feel a certain way! You will be able to pinpoint certain behaviors and learn more about your body and its sensitivities.

Your personal log holds you accountable for what you say you want to do, in comparison to what you do. Logging allows you to reflect upon your choices and better understand how you reached or didn’t reach your goals, enabling you to keep moving forward. It is your visual tool into your own personal reality. This can be just the tool to unlocking your potential, making you aware of your choices and allowing you to track your continuous progress!

This simple yet extremely powerful tool can be the one missing link towards accomplishing your fitness goals. The Gina Aliotti Fitness Network now offers a very hands on Personal Log that enables you to stay on track and start charting your progress! Our simple, yet effective log, allows you to enter your personal data in minutes! The log is intended to allow you to be as detailed or as basic as you want to be. Notice, there is not a designated place to chart your nutrient breakdown (calories, carbs, fats, proteins, etc) but rather a space to indicate your healthy food choices. Here at TheGina Aliotti Fitness Network, we do not believe in counting calories or getting stuck on numbers. The log is intended for you to track your intake and output, be aware of your healthy smart choices and learn along the way! Of course, if you wish to add in your own detailed breakdown, you are welcome to, after all it is YOUR personal log, but remember the goal is to learn to make smart, healthy decisions without numbers running through your head.

When it comes to choosing your foods it’s not really necessary to get caddy and start counting numbers. Follow one simple rule, focus less on numbers and more on quality of foods. The simple rule, I want you to follow, is to shop for foods that do not come in a box, wrapper, or package where there is a nutritional label on it. Best way to approach a grocery store is to shop along the perimeter of the store!

Here is a sample of the foods that are label free and foods that should be the foundation of your nutritional program:

  • Fresh vegetables
  • Fresh fruits
  • Nuts and seeds
  • Fresh lean cuts of meat
  • Fresh fish
  • Fresh eggs (local are best!)
  • Dry beans and legumes

There are some exceptions to the rule such as oats, rice, healthy fibrous breads, etc but for the most part, unpackaged is a good rule of thumb. This doesn’t necessarily mean that the packaged ones should be off limits, but you must look to see if they have been processed in any way.

We want to introduce a new approach and way for you to look at the foods you eat! Spend less energy focusing on numbers and more on the types and quality of foods you consume!

Please, utilize your own personal log and start tracking your progress today!
